Interpersonal Intelligence is the ability to simply understand the people around you and their feelings. This will enable you determine how you engage or interact with them. For many who daily interface with people in their profession, it is essential to develop and master these skills.
These you can do when:
- You are actively involved in community service, helping those in need, talk to them engage them and you develop your communication skills.
- Teach and mentor others, you will gradually understand how to make people learn and listen to you
- When you listen to others, you will understand their different perspectives, opinions and acknowledge them. It goes a long way to show that you are respectful and receptive.
- You can develop interpersonal intelligence when you practise empathy, show concern to people and situation.
- Exhibit positive body language. your appearance and gestures must align with your oral expression.
- Display social sensitivity, be aware of people’s orientation, sensitivity and take caution to avoid offending them.
