8 things Employers do that makes their staff quit

From the onset, every employee at the point of engagement look forward to a successful work experience in their new workplace but over time when expectations are not met often leads to disappointment and need to move on. problem they encounter ranges from all forms of abuse, intolerance, toxicity and most especially poor processes, administration and control. the role and decisions made by employers often trigger exit of staffs especially when nothing is done to correct the situation. in some instances the employers are the reason staffs quit and this happens when employers:

  • Set Inconsistent and unrealistic goals for their Staff: This happens when employer ex[ect you to ‘squeeze water out of the rock’ knowing that the goals are not realistic. The employer invariably put staffs on edge while trying to meet the goals.
  • Waste Resources: endless hours on meetings and other activities that have no direct bearing on results and goals: Some organization are fond of holding endless meetings which are time wasters. Good time that could have been used for productive results are wasted on constant meetings.
  • Put Employees in wrong job roles: some staffs who are either employed to seek or return favor end up failing especially when they are not qualified for the job roles. Some do not have requisite qualification and are employed to man strategic units. The outcomes no doubt will have negative impact on the organization and when appraisals is called for, the result will be obvious.
  • Promote employee into incompetence: Most of the time ,quite a number of staff are positioned to fail when they are promoted to incompetence. Due to lack of experience and basic skills to deliver, such employee will definitely fail and exit will be the option to save face.
  • Fail to provide conducive and safe work environment: There are certain processes, equipment and tools needed to succeed. Where they are lacking and several requests have been made which there is no response, such staff will be frustrated and exit.
  • Fail to increase and improve remuneration: When staffs are on the same salary or remuneration, no increment, no growth .
  • Fail to chart a clear career path to encourage growth: Many organizations are guilty especially when there is no effective Human resource unit to support the system and all decisions are made by just one person: the employer. Such staffs who desired growth will at some point quit.
  • Lead with bias and favoritism: when employer brings favoritism to play in workplace on grounds of family, religious and ethnic divide.
  • Fail to enhance staff capacity through trainings: No staff can grow when organizations don’t organize trainings for staffs. No staff will spend personal funds to train and will still remain in such employ, most of the time they improve on their skills to seek for greener pastures .

This is very true. But its painful when you try to complain and demand for a better position/department where you know you can function well you’re tagged as lazy and don’t want to work or even asked to leave the organization.
