Toxic workplace is described as an environment where staffs finds it difficult to thrive in their career. This is as a result of negative environment triggered by Company policies, direct Supervisor, Colleagues and even Employers.
When you find yourself in this situation, this is what you should do:
- Create a to-do list of tasks to keep you busy and out of the toxicity
- Create life outside your workplace- your ‘sanctuary’. Could be your hobby or side hustle.
- Find agents of change or people with like minds in your workplace and be friends with them.
- Document everything you do, create another email to store away sensitive document that if missing could be a big problem
- Start your exit plan
- Walk away if it is beginning to affect your mental health.
